Presentation

Enjoy the charm of a small house set in a garden in the very centre of the Serenissima, hidden away in a unique enclave by the canal’s edge, in the shade of a climbing vine.

The house

The house is hidden between the Accademia and the Guggenheim Palace, in a quiet lane on the edge of the Dorsoduro canal, in a district that overlooks San Marco Square on one side, and the Giudecca on the other.
In winter you can enjoy a delicious meal of pasta in the sun on the Zattere, and in summer you can set off for the beach on the Lido.

a beautiful stone flooring, white beams and Venetian glass cabochon windows

This split-level apartment is composed of, on the ground floor: a lounge opening out onto the garden, a dining room and a kitchen overlooking the terrace above the canal, and a bedroom. On the first floor: two large bedrooms and two bathrooms decorated in light colours.

The house boasts attractive stone flooring, white beams and Venetian glass cabochon windows and is a unique setting where it is very pleasant to rest both inside and outside, where you can enjoy reading a book in the garden or having breakfast on the terrace.

The Galani (sweet fritters), Fritelle (doughnuts) or meringues from Pasticceria TONOLO, Dorsoduro 3764 Calle San Pantalon.

The G Club, Palazzina Grassi, is a cool night club.

Shopping to bring back

Cadognato

Baroque jewellery from CADOGNATO, San Marco, calle Seconda dell’Ascensione: customers of this family-owned historical establishment have been marvelling over their wares for more than a century.

Gianni Dittura & MASSIMO DITTURA

Venetian “Frioulane” slippers from Gianni DITTURA, San Marco 943 Calle Fiubera, and behind the Accademia at Massimo Dittura, Dorsoduro 871 San Vio.

Honeycomb stitch tea towels from Chiara Stella CATTANA
San Marco 3357 next to the Palazzo Grassi. A very affordable little Italian gem.

to visit

Of all the palaces, museums, the “Scuole” and churches to choose from, I would reserve a special mention for the San Salvador church, the inside of Doge’s Palace and the Marciana Library (whose entrance is via the Correr Museum opposite San Marco church).
