The house is hidden between the Accademia and the Guggenheim Palace, in a quiet lane on the edge of the Dorsoduro canal, in a district that overlooks San Marco Square on one side, and the Giudecca on the other.
In winter you can enjoy a delicious meal of pasta in the sun on the Zattere, and in summer you can set off for the beach on the Lido.

My favourites are those from the Gelateria Alaska, Santo Croce 1159 calle Larga dei Bari with surprising flavours such as ginger green tea or artichoke.
Or a pastry?
The Galani (sweet fritters), Fritelle (doughnuts) or meringues from Pasticceria TONOLO, Dorsoduro 3764 Calle San Pantalon.

San Marco 3357 next to the Palazzo Grassi. A very affordable little Italian gem.
Of all the palaces, museums, the “Scuole” and churches to choose from, I would reserve a special mention for the San Salvador church, the inside of Doge’s Palace and the Marciana Library (whose entrance is via the Correr Museum opposite San Marco church).
